About
At CrossFit Bear Crawl, our mission is simple: to help you achieve lasting results and become the strongest, healthiest, and happiest version of yourself. No matter your age, fitness level, or goals, you'll receive expert coaching and personal support in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. We believe fitness is even more meaningful when it brings people together, which is why we encourage whole families to train together and build healthier, more active lives. Both inside and outside the gym. We believe CrossFit is the most complete and balanced way to improve your fitness, helping you become stronger, fitter, more mobile, and more resilient while improving your sleep, reducing stress, and boosting your confidence. More than just a gym, CrossFit Bear Crawl is a community that will help you discover what you're truly capable of and empower you to live your best life beyond the walls of the gym.
Golux tried for you
When we arranged to meet Jaimie, we thought we were simply going to discover another CrossFit box. What we didn't realise was that we were about to discover something much more personal: a story about family.
We arrived a little early and waited in the reception area, sitting on a sofa that instantly made us feel at home. And almost immediately, two things caught our attention. The first was a large noticeboard covered in photographs. Group pictures, events, families, young and old. Smiling faces everywhere. And, written across it, a simple phrase: "Bear Crawl Family." The second surprised us even more. Just a few metres away, a mother was training while her baby happily explored the floor beside her, completely free and at ease in their surroundings. If we're honest, it wasn't quite the image we had in mind when we thought of the world of CrossFit. And yet.
A few minutes later, Jaimie arrived and suddenly everything made sense. Warm. Friendly. Genuine. Jaimie is a true CrossFitter. Passionate. Perhaps even obsessed, as she would probably say with a laugh. CrossFit isn't simply something she does. It's part of who she is. A culture, a community and a way of life she feels deeply connected to. But as our conversation unfolded, we discovered another side of her. Jaimie is also a mother. And honestly, you cannot fully understand Bear Crawl without understanding that. We spent a long time talking about motherhood, the different stages of a woman's life, and the profound changes that come with welcoming a child into the world. The more we talked, the clearer one idea became.
At Bear Crawl, CrossFit is not something you squeeze into your life. It's something that becomes part of it. For many young parents, that can feel almost impossible. For Jaimie, it became a mission. Helping parents continue to take care of themselves without feeling they have to compromise on being parents. Giving mothers the opportunity to train without having to choose between their own wellbeing and their baby. Creating an environment where family life isn't an obstacle to fitness, but something that naturally exists alongside it.
So she adapted the space around her. She created safe areas for infants. She introduced classes and schedules that allow parents and children to come at the same time. She built something that feels like far more than a gym. She created a place where life happens.
A few days later, it was time for our trial session. And once again, it felt as though the same story was unfolding before our eyes. There were only two of us taking part: one GoLux member and one member of the Bear Crawl community, a young father. Around us, two mothers were completing their training while their babies explored the world in their own way on the gym floor. No one seemed to think there was anything unusual about it. Because here, it's simply part of everyday life. And somehow, we found that deeply touching. In a world where parents often feel they are constantly racing against the clock, juggling responsibilities and trying to be everything to everyone, Bear Crawl seems to have a simple message: "Come as you are. We'll make room for everyone."
Then the session began. And our perception of Jaimie evolved yet again. Because behind the kindness is a true professional. An experienced coach with an exceptional eye for detail. Someone who notices everything. Nothing escapes her. Jaimie corrects, encourages and gently pushes you beyond what you thought you were capable of. But she does it in a way that feels uniquely her own. Demanding, yet never judgemental. Intense, yet never intimidating.
Possessing that rare ability to believe in you just a little more than you believe in yourself. And perhaps that is where the coach and the mother meet. She has the determination of a CrossFitter who refuses to let you give up too soon. But she also has the kindness of someone who understands that people grow faster when they feel supported than when they feel assessed.
We left Bear Crawl convinced of one thing. Yes, they are exceptional CrossFit professionals. Yes, the coaches know exactly what they're doing. Yes, the sessions are structured, challenging and thoughtfully designed. But what we will remember most is not a workout, an exercise or a personal achievement. It is the feeling of having discovered a place where fitness naturally fits into real life. A place where athletes train alongside beginners. Where children, parents and grandparents all belong. A place where people come to grow stronger. But, perhaps more importantly, a place where they leave feeling part of something bigger than a gym. Part of a family.
